LAB PROJECT:

Hangman

Hangman is a semi-documentary hybrid film constructed around the game of Hangman. It contains six short stories about death and disaster, and is built from the memories of the last executioner in Thailand and a fortuneteller. Set in Bangkok, the film starts as a documentary, following a day in the life of Mr. Chavoret Jaruboon, Thailand's last executioner. Chavoret executed 53 men and two women by machine gun during his 19 years on the job, and the documentary portion of the film includes interviews with him as well as Chavoret performing re-enactments of his executions.
