STRANDED IN CANTON TO SCREEN AT TRIBECA

MÅNS MÅNSSON & LI HONGQI - STRANDED IN CANTON

STRANDED IN CANTON WILL HAVE ITS NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE AT TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL IN APRIL

The CPH:LAB film Stranded in Canton that premiered in the main competition at CPH:DOX 2014 is a huge festival success. After the screenings at film festivals in Zürich, Rotterdam and Göteborg, the film is heading to Tribeca Film Festival, where it will have its north-american premiere on April 19, 2015 (6:45 PM at Bow Ties Cinemas, Chelsea 5). One of the most ambitious projects that came out of CPH:LAB, the film was made over the period of three years. Lebrun, the main character, is an entrepreneur from The Democratic Republic of Congo who goes to China intent on making a fortune selling political T-shirts. When things don’t go as planned Lebrun spends more time in karaoke bars and falling in love than he does on business. “Somewhere between documentary and fiction, this fascinating story explores new trade routes and their impact in two separate continents.”, writes TFF on its webpage.
