SALLA SORRI & RENATE COSTA - RESISTANT
DOX:LAB FILM SELECTED FOR VENICE
We are very happy to announce that Resistente, a DOX:LAB film by Renate Costa Perdomo and Salla Sorri, has been selected for Orizzonti competition at 69th Venice International Film Festival. The film is a co-production between Finland, Denmark and Paraguay, making it a first Paraguayan entry at this prestigious festival ever. Resistente is a short documentary about Don Alberto Bonnet, a 91-year old man who lives in unity with nature, in the middle of a forest. "We got captivated by his look from the very first moment and later by his presence and his struggle. He seemed to manage to be one with time, the plants, the insects, the walls of his own house. Don Alberto is an unmasked example of a unity between man and nature," say the two directors. We want to add that this was one of the most harmonic DOX:LAB collaborations ever, Salla Sorri even managed to learn Spanish while filming and editing in Paraguay for a few months. Great team work, girls!
